A Page All About Bill Moseley
I fell in love with one performance this year, and only one. And
that was Bill Moseley's performance in the Rob Zombie film The
Devil's Rejects. While I enjoyed Moseley's performance in
House of 1000 Corpses, I don't think he played that role with
the same panache that he did when he took up the mantle of Otis
again in the sequel this year. So it would be silly to have a Rob
Zombie movie site without a page dedicated to Bill Moseley.
Bill Moseley as Otis Driftwood
The Devil's Rejects and House of 1000 Corpses are
about the Firefly family, all of whom take their names from
characters in Marx Brothers movies. Bill Moseley portrays Otis
Driftwood, and in the first film, he's a total psycho with an almost
complete lack of normal behavior. He's also an albino.
In The Devil's Rejects, he's still a psycho, but he's a
well-spoken and comical psycho played with vigor and grace in a role
that has inspired fans to start an independent campaign to get
Moseley a best supporting actor nomination. And somehow Otis
Driftwood is no longer an albino.
Bill Moseley Biography
Bill Moseley was born November 11, 1951 in Stanford, Connecticut.
The first big movie role he had was as Chop-Top in The Texas
Chainsaw Massacre 2 in 1986. He had a number of small parts in
minor horror films and other smaller movies until he hit the jackpot
with House of 1000 Corpses. He reprised his role in that film
in 2005 in the popular The Devil's Rejects, a sequel to
House of 1000 Corpses. His performance in that film inspired an
independent movement to get Moseley a Best Supporting Actor
nomination.
In real life, when he's not wearing scary movie makeup, BIll
Moseley is actually a strikingly handsome actor with a resemblance
to George Clooney and/or Billy Bob Thornton.
